Our allotment sites and rent charges
The Allotments Association runs five sites on behalf of the City of Ely Council. We do not administer the site at Deacons Lane, Ely nor do we have a firm date when the new allotment sites to be constructed in the North Ely housing development will be opened.
The existing sites where plots become available are shown below. Click on the images for details.
Details of rent charges for allotment plots are on this page below the site summaries.
The Tenancy Agreement defines the terms of rental and occupation of an allotment plot.

BRIDGE FENOur largest association site with over 100 tenants, the Bridge Fen site is just outside the City off the A142 Stuntney Causeway.
It is the only Ely site that has the famous black fen soil, earning the nickname 'giant growbag'. |
CANTERBURY AVENUEOne of our smallest sites with about a dozen plotholders, this is a former playground which was derelict and unloved, but is now a thriving community.
|
NEW BARNSNew Barns is our largest site within the City. It currently has 58 tenants, and is located in New Barns Avenue next to the City cemetery behind the playing field. Most plots are 5 or 10 poles in area.
|
UPHERDS LANEUpherds is a smaller site than New Barns, with 45 tenants. The site is triangular with a patchwork of plots, most of which are subdivisions of the original 10 pole plot layout.
